Oak - Year 3 2025 - 2026
Miss Pimblott
Welcome to Oak Class
Our class is made up of 24 amazing Year 3 Children. Our teacher is Miss Pimblott and we are supported by either Mrs Molyneux or Mrs Johnstone.
This half term, there will be no vehicle text as the focus will be entirely on grammar. The children will not be completing a 'Big Write' but will instead develop their understanding of key concepts, becoming confident in identifying nouns and verbs, recognising the subject of a sentence, and using co-ordinating conjunctions to link clauses accurately.
Our humanities topic is 'Natural Disasters', we will be learning about a wide range of distasters and how they impact humans and the natural environment. Please see the curriculum overview for the Spring Term (under the curriculum tab) for a learning over view for each subject.

It is always fantastic to see what the children are getting up to at home, so please share any exciting home experiences or milestones with us!
Forest School
Forest School will take place every other week starting on Wednesday 25th February. Please see the calendar for future dates.
This is a brilliant outdoor learning session that the children look forward to and enjoy - prepare for MUD! Children must come into school in their forest school clothing and bring their wellies/walking boots in a separate bag.
P.E.
Our P.E. lessons take place every Monday afternoon. Please ensure that your child has their P.E. kit in school all week.
Helping your child at home
Reading: Please read regularly at home with your child and our school expectation is to read a minimum of 4 times weekly. All children will have a school reading book, however there is nothing stopping you and your child from finding other interesting texts to read together e.g. articles in the local newspaper, non-fiction books about a hobby or even comic books.
Maths:Times tables! Chant them, test each other in the car, do them backwards, find the corresponding division facts and make up games. Please help your child to know their times tables inside out. We use 'TTRS' in school but another useful game is 'Hit the Button'.
